(San Antonio, TX) — Newsradio 1200 WOAI reporter and anchor Eric Leikam was named to anchor newscasts Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning, right after San Antonio’s First News with Chris Duel and Charity McCurdy.

Eric anchors the top and bottom of the hour newscasts, breaking information as it happens, along with traffic and weather together remotely from his “South Austin Bureau”.

Eric anchors news Saturdays from 6am to noon on WOAI. He also anchors unbranded Texas newscasts airing daily for iHeart’s 24/7 News division.

In addition Eric continues to be a regular contributor to Audacy’s Texas State Network.

WOAI is the westernmost, still-operating radio station whose call sign starts with a W in the USA. (Most W stations are east of the Mississippi River and most K stations are west. Weird, isn't it…)

The 50-thousand watt AM clear channel station was known as “the blowtorch of South Texas” in the early days of radio.
